About ARPA Southern Alberta

A grassroots voice for Reformed political action

We are a local chapter of The Association for Reformed Political Action (ARPA) Canada, a grassroots Christian political advocacy organization.

Who we are

Aligned with ARPA Canada

The mission of ARPA Southern Alberta is aligned with that of ARPA Canada: “to educate, equip, and encourage Reformed Christians to political action, and to bring a biblical perspective to our civil authorities.”

We believe that Jesus Christ is sovereign over all, including all civil governments. However, we also uphold the separation of the institutions of church and state.

“For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities: all things were created through him and for him.” Colossians 1:16

    • Assist with organizing presentations at local churches and schools in partnership with ARPA Canada and other organizations and speakers
    • Support and encourage local members to participate in provincial and national ARPA conferences
    • Increase election awareness through all-candidates forums and encouraging involvement in local campaigns
    • Build positive relationships in our community and strive to be a witness to our neighbours

    Where ARPA comes from

The Reformed church community has a history of political action and involvement in Canada. Already in the 1970s, local groups such as ours formed in churches and became known as ARPAs.

In 2007, ARPA Canada was founded to re-invigorate political action in the Reformed churches and to coordinate local efforts. Although ARPA Canada's work is much broader, it continues to assist local ARPAs such as ours here in Southern Alberta. We thank and praise God for the immense blessing on this effort in the years since.

    Meetings and events

We are a dedicated group of individuals who meet together five times per year. You are welcome to come out to become more educated on the issues and help brainstorm effective ways to get involved.

We also host evenings across the region: Signature Events with guest speakers, and ARPA tours that bring ARPA Canada's staff to local churches and schools.
